What is it?
Make the Road New Jersey's College Ambassador Summer Institute is an annual eight week program that runs from July to August. There are some additional College Ambassador programs offered during the academic year for students in Elizabeth; see below for details.
Selected participants will learn how to navigate the college application process, draft a successful personal statement, and apply for financial aid. Additionally, participants will learn how to support high school students as they navigate the college application process and take part in MRNJ local and statewide actions.
Eligibility
Am I eligible to be a College Ambassador?
If you're a rising high school senior or younger, you are eligible to apply for the Summer Institute.
If you're a rising high school senior or younger living in Elizabeth, NJ, you are eligible for the Summer Institute and for abbreviated College Ambassador programs offered during the academic year. Please follow Make the Road NJ on Facebook and Instagram for updates about these programs.
College Ambassador programs are open to all students, regardless of immigration status.

How can I apply?
Applications for the Summer Institute will open on January 1, 2019. Applications must be completed by June 15, 2019, for consideration for the 2019 Summer Institute. For information about shorter programs for Elizabeth residents, please follow Make the Road NJ on Facebook and Instagram.
